Aluminium is becoming more and more common in the manufacture of newer higher end vehicles.

The reason for this is firstly the weight saving capabilities of aluminium. Which cuts the weight down of the vehicle dramatically so in turn improving fuel economy.

But most of all its sheer strength in comparison to mild steel. Although you may think of a drink can when thinking of aluminium but it is actually much, much stronger than steel.

Unlike steel it also has no memory, so when addressing a dent on an aluminium panel you are essentially restarting and creating the new panel shape.

Aluminium is extremely difficult to work with and requires heat and very specific tooling and methods to repair to the standard in which we wish to achieve.
